myPHID Expert Sessions 2009
myPHID is the international hub for best working practices between healthcare professionals. We believe clear, transparent alignments are the secret to achieving every individual's end goals in this community - that of driving medical research and innovation forward and ultimately improving patient care.

We need to put this relationship back on track. We need to understand the barriers that are currently preventing equal engagement. We will do this through expert sessions which include discussion, research and consensus within the myPHID community.

What are myPHID Expert Sessions?

The myPHID Expert Sessions are monthly discussion arenas, which bring 6—10 key experts in the medical science community together to debate and discuss topics that the myPHID community believes are key to defining a new era of engagement.

The aim is to broadcast current views on topics that up to now have caused hidden divisions but remained undebated in an open arena - they have certainly never been part of a united community discussion. This is a greatly needed step in the pathway to changing perceptions and relationships in the healthcare community.

myPHID will bring this discussion to the entire community to:

  • Pose questions to the panel for the discussion .
  • Be part of the experience by watching on-line to the debate.
  • Debate and discuss the output of the session - the aim to move the community towards resolution.

How will they work?

Session
610 experts will be invited to attend a two-hour meeting in a chosen city - to cut down travel time the aim would be for all the experts for that session to work in the host country. Panel expert selection will be responsive to the topic but could contain any of the following:

  • Physician.
  • Pharmaceutical physicians.
  • Pharmaceutical marketing executive.
  • Nurse practitioner.
  • Patient advocate/NGO representative.
  • Regulatory expert.
  • Medical researcher.

The meeting will be 2 hours in duration - beginning with group forming, followed by 1 hour of discussion and 1/2 hour for key actions and resolutions to be proposed. The discussion will include input and questions from the wider myPHID community supplied in advance of the meeting. If a fee is requested for attendance myPHID will be happy to donate £200 to a charity of the Expert's choice and travel expenses up to the value of £100 will also be reimbursed.

Post-session
By broadcasting and streaming the output from the meeting to the myPHID community and the wider healthcare environs we aim to:

  • Allow the whole myPHID community to join the discussion and broadcast individuals opinions.
  • Allow the actions and commitment of the myPHID community to stimulate thinking amongst the entire healthcare arena.
  • Call to action for resolution on these key topics.

How will we do this?

On myPHID
True to the myPHID spirit of transparency and equal engagement anyone who is registered as a myPHID community member can:

  • Views a online video stream of the entire un-edited session.
  • Download 15—20 minute edited coffee-casts of the event.
  • Read & review the key outcomes of output.
  • Discuss output on a post-event phorum with other myPHID members.

We will also make available a deployment kit that companies and organisations can license and take internally to educate and inform their teams. The aim is to encourage all companies to use the sessions as an activator for debate, discussion and change amongst the individuals that make-up their collective. The deployment kit will include:

  • A deployment kit comprising of the necessary files to deploy internally, where teams can view the session.

Outside of myPHID
Communication media will include:

  • Publication of output in key medical/commercial journals.
  • Presentation of findings at medical conferences.
  • Use of output for positive communications with patients and the general public.

Partnering with myPHID on the sessions

We invite partners to work with us to make this happen. Partners can include:

  • Pharmaceutical companies.
  • Communication agencies.
  • Medical societies.
  • Patient groups/NGO's.

By partnering with us on the session sponsors can:

  • Be part of the expert panel selection.
  • Place up to 2 of their members in the session.
  • After 1 month communicate the output with their team/community independently of myPHID.
  • Be fully credited on-line at myPHID and in any communication output for their support.

Most importantly sponsors will be demonstrating their commitment to activating change in this relationship dynamic.

If you have got the passion and desire that we have to make a difference and would like to align with us please contact us to secure a sponsorship and collaborative opportunity.
